At the start of 2024, Disney announced an investment of $1.5 billion into Epic Games, the studio behind Fortnite, as part of a growing partnership. Epic is working on a self-contained gaming ecosystem that will include a wide variety of Disney properties.
The report comes from HYPEX and ShiinaBR on X, formerly known as Twitter. The two accounts are prominent within the Fortnite online community, and their leaks are notoriously reliable. As with any leak, it’s worth withholding judgment until an official announcement is made by Disney or Epic Games.

Fortnite Reportedly Gets New Star Wars Event
A new alleged Fortnite image apparently reveals details about the game’s latest collaboration with Star Wars in a galaxy far, far away.
Most recently, Fortnite put on a crossover event with Avatar: The Last Airbender, which included skins, gliders, emotes and the ability to use all four types of bending by collecting element scrolls. They have done the same with popular anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, including Gojo’s “Hollow Purple” as a usable ultimate move. Dragon Ball’s Kamehameha, Deku’s Smash from My Hero Academia, and Attack on Titan’s ODM gear have all made appearances in previous seasons of the game. Star Wars has been one of Fortnite’s most frequent and praised collaborations, bringing The Force’s abilities and lightsabers into the battle royale game.
A new Fortnite X Star Wars collaboration was released on May 3, and it will affect Battle Royale as well as the new LEGO Fortnite gamemode. For Battle Royal, this means the return of characters like Darth Vader and Chewbacca, as well as abilities like lightsabers and blasters –including Chewie’s Bowcaster. In LEGO Fortnite, the update will bring the world of LEGO Star Wars to life, incorporating it into the survival-style game. Players will be able to raid Empire strongholds, wield lightsabers, and maybe take down an AT-AT or two.
